Silk is a Canadian born academic. Silk was born in Fredericton. She was her father's daughter Peter Silk, a professor, and Ilkay who was a playwright as well as director. She was also known as an actress. Anna is able to recall some of her first memories as a child, including being a spectator at play rehearsals.
