Zoe-perry

Perry was born in Chicago to the actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first TV roles were two appearances on the show as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on The ABC sitcom Roseanne as the character played by her mom. But her parents would not let her perform until she turned an adult, for fear of the effects stress would have on their daughter. Perry shy and timid to perform in the school, began to perform in the theater at Northwestern University because she wanted to make new acquaintances. Perry made her debut in New York after graduation, landing minor role in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But homesickness made Perry return to California to work as an actress in the theater. Perry starred with her mother on stage in The Other Place at Broadway the previous year. Kevin McKidd, her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie with her in 2015. Perry played a lead role in nine episodes in 2016 of the ABC drama The Family. Perry was also featured in an appearance on ABC's political thriller Scandal with her father. She played an older Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off show that was part of the CBS show The Big Bang Theory was another portrayal by her younger mother. The actress was chosen for the role in spite of her strong family connection to the character.
